Emilia Lehmonen
I am a solution-focused brief therapist and I am studying to become an integrative psychotherapist at the University of Eastern Finland. I founded Mindora Oy therapy services in 2023.
I graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Helsinki in 2020. My thesis was on workplace well-being. At the beginning of my career, I worked as a social worker in Vantaa's child protection open care, after which I moved on to a supervisory position in Järvenpää's child protection open care.
My most recent job was as a social worker at the family counseling center in the Vantaa and Kerava wellbeing area, where my duties included supporting and advising families in their interactions and conducting couples therapy. Now, I am a full-time entrepreneur.
In my work, I have engaged in highly challenging therapeutic conversations and crisis work. I have dealt with a wide variety of mental health challenges and behavioral patterns. Often, clients have felt very lost in their lives, and the goal is to find light at the end of the tunnel. Every person has infinite potential and every situation holds possibilities; sometimes it just requires the help of a professional to see it.
My approach is gently firm. My colleagues and clients have described me as emotionally intelligent and a unique therapist. I use a broad range of diverse tasks and various tools to support my work. I aim to ensure that the client has the knowledge and skills to manage their life's situations after therapy ends. The most important thing to me is the encounter and listening, with the client always at the center.
My philosophy of life is that our mission here in the world is to help each other. I have found my way to help others through my work as a therapist.
My special expertise includes families with children, divorced families, maltreatment, trauma work, expatriates, and immigration.
